At the end of 2013, I joined the committee of the Royston Arts Society as their publicity person. One of my first tasks was to design the poster for the upcoming Spring exhibition.
Here’s the poster, and a little bit about the exhibition:
The Royston Arts Society will be hosting its first annual Spring Exhibition this April at The Old School Studio in Whittlesford. Framed and unframed original art, prints, and greeting cards featuring portraits, landscapes, abstracts, mixed media, and much more will be on sale at very affordable prices.
This show replaces the Society’s usual Winter Exhibition, and with a membership of over 100 and growing, there’s sure to be some serious talent in a wide variety of media. Everything from watercolours to oil pastels will be on sale. The Royston Arts Society was established in 1978 and over the years it has developed a reputation for high quality art in North Hertfordshire. The Society’s annual Autumn Exhibition at the Royston Arts Festival is not only heavily attended but well supported. The Spring Exhibition is another good opportunity to view and purchase new work by local artists.
As you clear out and open up your home after the confinement of winter, perhaps you will find a space for some artwork that will make you smile broadly every time you pass it by.
The Royston Arts Society’s Spring Exhibition. 12th-21st April 2014, 10am to 5pm daily at The Old School Studio, Old School Lane, Whittlesford, Cambridge CB22 4YS
