The first thing you should know about me is that I can’t do watercolours. All that forethought about negative space and light area to leave blank? Uh uh!
But every now and then I get it in my head that it would be so cool to be able to just create a quick watercolour piece. So armed with a gorgeous Winsor & Newton set (a gift from my mummy-in-law), I decided to spend one Saturday trying to turn some of favourite scenes into watercolour.
Drawing the scene was a breeze. I can draw, thanks to my very good secondary school art teachers – Mrs Clarke and Mrs Williams. But watercolours?
Six discarded pages and many groans of despair later, South Bank was the first thing to emerge that I actually liked and I hope you like it too!
